Jackson, a recent high school graduate who lives on Jennifer’s block, made the long commute to Loyola High School in Los Angeles every day and plans to study aviation in St. Louis. His mom runs Villa Hermosa Plant Shop, a family business that began in 1980 and was rebuilt after a devastating fire.
In Jennifer’s words
I remember meeting Jackson, a recent high school graduate who lives on our block, when we went door-to-door back in June. Jackson attended Loyola High School in Los Angeles, and we were so impressed by his dedication to making the long commute every day. What stood out most, however, was his passion for aviation and science. His eyes lit up as he shared his high school experience and his plans to study aviation in St. Louis.
This morning, I had the pleasure of visiting his mom’s floral shop, Villa Hermosa Plant Shop. She shared the beautiful story of their family business, which began in 1980, and how the family rebuilt after a devastating fire. She also spoke proudly about Jackson’s commitment to pursuing an education centered on what he loves.
Those 5 a.m. wake-up calls never seemed to slow him down. Jackson is reaching for the stars—and his story is a wonderful reminder that when young people are motivated and supported, the sky is the limit.
